The History Of The Transporter

To celebrate the launch of the sixth-generation VW Transporter, I spearheaded a teaser campaign in France. Aiming to solidify the Transporter's legacy as the pioneer in its category, we adopted the slogan "History always remembers the first."

The campaign began with a print ad, seamlessly transitioning users to an interactive experience. This experience explored the rich history of the iconic Transporter, tracing its journey since 1947.

My role encompassed the entire campaign concept, user experience design, interface design, and art direction. I also collaborated closely with the development team to ensure a smooth and engaging user journey.

A Journey Through Time: Experience the Legacy of an Icon.

Showcasing all five generations of the Transporter was a cornerstone of the campaign.  To achieve this, I conceptualised a user experience with a meticulously crafted structure. Each section functioned as its own mini-exhibit, dedicated to a specific generation. Consistency was key – Introduction, Lifestyle Images, Information, Hotspots, and Gallery/Album – remained the same across all models. This uniformity served a crucial purpose: it facilitated effortless comparison between generations.

Users could easily navigate and visually identify the design and functional changes that had evolved over time, solidifying the Transporter's legacy of constant innovation.

UI Concept: A Trip Through Time in the Iconic Bulli

The user interface (UI) design played a central role in transporting users on a historical adventure through the Transporter's legacy.  It revolved around a clever concept – the actual dashboard of the beloved T1 "Bulli".  This instantly recognizable element served as a nostalgic time machine.  By clicking on specific values on the speedometer, users could navigate through different eras, seamlessly exploring each Transporter generation from the 1950s all the way to the present day.

The speedometer functioned as a visual timeline, offering an intuitive and engaging way to explore the Transporter's evolution.
